PO created from a requisition but req not set to posted

Hello,

I have had a couple districts report that they have a PO that states it was posted from a req but when they look at the req it has an open status.  I used datatrieve to add the PO number to the req.

I checked the requesters preferences and the req is 'set to posted'.  Their USACON Many PO flag is "Y".   Anyone know what causes this problem? Has anyone else seen a rise in the number of reports of open reqs that were converted to POs?

Thanks,
Deb

If a req is converted to a PO and then someone modifies the req, does the req's status change to open?

I believe you are on the right track.   What you want to look at is, what is the setting of their "Modify/Delete Requisitions" flag in USASDAT/USACON?   If this is set to Y, then that means they are allowed to modify or delete requisitions that have already been converted to a purchase order.  In this case, modifying a requisition would set the status back to open.  This setting is usually used in conjunction with a "Many PO's on One Requisition" setting of Y, where the district is re-using the same requisition multiple times and may need to make changes for the next purchase order to be posted from it.  If the district wants to maintain a full audit trail from requisition to purchase order, then we would advise setting both of these flags to "N".
