USxS Projects and Web Services Integration Support

Is it the intention of the SSDT to continue support of the Web Services integration options currently available?  We have over 130 districts using this integration now and we are a HUGE fan of its capabilities when comparing to integration options of other A/P systems.

Assuming you DO intend to continue support of the Web Services, do you see changes coming our way?  Is there anything we can do to plan for these changes to avoid any interruptions to our joint customers?

Yes. The Web Services in USPS and USAS will be supported for the foreseeable future.

I assume your question is primarily concerned with the "Redesign" projects.  The Redesigns provide (as a primary requirement) the existing SOAP API (wsdl and schema).  The Redesign projects provide the SOAP layer as a "compatibility" layer between the Classic data model and the new data model.   The translation between the models is largely transparent to the client application. We expect that most (or all) third party applications will work without modification.

There are however minor behavioral and XSD changes in the Redesign SOAP services.  We expect that most of these will not impact vendors.  For USAS, this document contains a summary of changes.  A similar document is not yet available for USPS.

Great news. For the reasons you mention, these services separate state software from some of the commercial packages in my opinion!
